Partner Data Sharing
1. Who receives your data
Rock Paper Reality, Inc. ("RPR") may share application data with:
- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. — as the founding Program Partner for the Galaxy XR Launchpad.
- Other approved Program Partners — additional organizations that RPR formally designates in writing for the relevant Program cycle. Any future Program Partner will be subject to a written data-sharing arrangement.
2. What data is shared
The categories of information shared with Program Partners include:
- Your organization's legal name, country of registration, industry, and contact details;
- Your submitter's name, title, and corporate contact details;
- Your responses to the application questions, including your proposed use case, business case, technical readiness, and operational details;
- Any supporting materials you submit voluntarily as part of your application.
RPR does not share consent-record metadata (timestamps, IP addresses, user-agent strings, or hash records) with Program Partners. That information is retained by RPR only, for legal-defensibility purposes.
3. Why data is shared
Application data is shared with Program Partners for the following purposes:
- Program evaluation — Program Partners may participate in or consult on the evaluation of applications, including assessing technical feasibility, platform fit, and strategic alignment with their products and services.
- Partner marketing — Program Partners may use general descriptions, anonymized themes, and aggregate insights from applications for their own marketing, communications, and ecosystem development. Detailed identifying information will not be used for marketing without the relevant approvals described in Section 9 of the Official Program Rules.
- XR business development — Program Partners may follow up with applicants whose proposals align with their commercial or product priorities. You are not obligated to engage with any such follow-up.
4. Consent
You will be asked to provide explicit consent to Program Partner data sharing as part of your application submission. The consent text reads:
I agree that Rock Paper Reality, Inc. may share my organization's name, contact information, application details, and proposed use case with approved Program Partners for the purposes of Program evaluation, partner marketing, and XR business development.
This consent is required to submit an application. Withdrawing consent after submission is described in Section 6 below.
5. Lawful basis for processing
Where data protection law applies, RPR's lawful bases for sharing application data with Program Partners are:
- Your consent, freely given at the time of application, for the specific purpose of partner sharing;
- Legitimate interests in operating, marketing, and developing the Program and its ecosystem, balanced against your reasonable expectations as an applicant to a Samsung-co-promoted Program.
For UK and EU-based applicants, the legal bases align with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. For UAE applicants, the legal bases align with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
6. Retention and withdrawal
RPR retains application data for the duration of the Program cycle and a reasonable period thereafter for evaluation of future cycles, record-keeping, and legitimate business interests, subject to applicable law.
You may request withdrawal of your application at any time before selection by emailing hello@rockpaperreality.com. Withdrawal will stop further processing of your application content but will not erase the consent record, which is retained for legal-defensibility purposes and may be required to demonstrate the validity of past processing under applicable law.
Data already shared with Program Partners in good faith may continue to be retained by those Partners under their own data-protection arrangements.
7. International transfers
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is headquartered in the Republic of Korea, and application data may be transferred to, processed in, and stored in jurisdictions outside of your country of registration, including the United States, the Republic of Korea, and other locations where RPR or Samsung operate. Where required by law, RPR uses appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable) and equivalent UAE-recognized transfer mechanisms.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable data-protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information RPR holds about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal retention requirements;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal);
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — including the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UAE Data Office, or your U.S. state regulator where applicable.
